The ALT standard

Your event has one chance to happen properly.

There is no second take on a live event. When the microphones open, the room either works or it doesn’t.

ALT Events exists for that moment. We plan the technical side of your event the way a production should be planned: the venue walked in advance, the programme mapped, the systems sized to the room, and a senior technical lead accountable from the first conversation to the final cable out.

The result you experience is simple — clear sound, considered lighting, and a calm crew that arrives prepared. The spectacle your guests see is built on preparation they never have to think about.

What the room gets

Energy in the room. Confidence behind the scenes.

Capability 01 — Sound

Sound people feel. Speech everyone hears.

A PA sized to the room, mixed by an engineer who listens. Vows that carry to the back row, speeches that don’t feed back, and music with weight when the dancing starts.

Capability 02 — Lighting

Lighting that shapes the room.

Warm wash for the dinner, focus for the speaker, energy for the dance floor. Lighting designed to flatter people and photographs — not to fight them.

Capability 03 — Production

One crew. One plan. No surprises.

A senior technical lead runs your event on a written plan: schedule, power, cues and crew. You deal with one accountable person — not a group chat.

Production possibilities

Built around the event.

Every event is a different room, a different crowd, a different brief. These are the contexts we produce for — each one planned around your programme, not a fixed formula.

Backstage discipline

The show is the visible part. Preparation is everything underneath it.

  • 01

    One accountable technical lead

A senior lead runs your event from the first call to the final cable out. One plan, one person who owns it.

  • 02

    Advance venue & programme planning

Access, power, acoustics and timing are mapped before load-in — not discovered during it.

  • 03

    Tested systems

Every microphone, cable and fixture is checked before doors. Soundcheck finishes before guests arrive.

  • 04

    Backup built in

Backup playback and control paths travel with every show. Critical signals have a second route.

  • 05

    Trained, scalable crews

Senior-led teams sized to the event — from a two-person wedding rig to a full production crew.

  • 06

    Clear setup & teardown schedules

Load-in and strike times agreed with your venue in advance, in writing. No drifting, no chasing.

How it runs

Four steps. No drama.

Home ground

Based in Bloemfontein. Built for the Free State.

We know the rooms, the roads and the load-in doors.

From city venues to farm weddings across the province, our production is planned around local realities — travel times, power at rural venues, Highveld weather and the acoustics of real Free State halls.

Events beyond the Free State are planned and quoted with travel included.

Straight answers

Asked before every event.

How early should we book?

As soon as your date and venue are fixed. Four to eight weeks is comfortable for most events; we can occasionally move faster. Peak-season Saturdays — especially November and December — book out first.

Do you visit the venue beforehand?

Yes, wherever possible. We check access, power, acoustics and rigging points in advance, and we speak to the venue directly about load-in and sound limits. Surprises on event day are a planning failure, not bad luck.

Can you cover both the ceremony and the reception?

Yes — one team, one plan. Ceremony sound with discreet microphones, then reception DJ, speeches and dance-floor production. Nothing has to be re-hired or re-explained between the two.

Can you work with a venue’s existing equipment?

Often, yes. We test house systems before relying on them, supplement where they fall short, and bring our own where the room needs it. You get one technical plan either way.

What happens if equipment fails during the event?

Backup playback and control paths are part of every rig we deploy, and critical items carry spares. Failures are handled by switching over — usually before anyone in the room notices.

Do you travel outside Bloemfontein?

We cover the whole Free State as standard, and travel further by arrangement. Travel is quoted openly as part of your proposal — no hidden callout arithmetic afterwards.

What do you need from us to quote?

Five things: the date, the venue or town, the estimated guest count, the rough programme, and what you need covered — ceremony, speeches, music, lighting, screens or content. The enquiry form walks you through it in about a minute.
